34 Regiment Squadron recently posted to Royal Air Force Akrotiri to assume the force protection role. The RAF Leeming based regiment squadron will take the temporary position after being handed over the role from 2 Mercians Battalion. They will perform duties such as manning vehicle check points, controlling access to and from the airfield, whilst also protecting the air assets within RAF Akrotiri.
