20th October 2018 the Saif Saree’a 3 Task group formed up of the Coast of Oman. The19 Ships included Royal Navy and Omani ships. The ships formed an arrow head formation with the Omani Navy at the front taking lead. On completion they starburst and proceeded to carry on exercise tasking.





Ex SS3 is a combined military training exercise between UK and Omani Armed Forces. The land forces will train in Oman and naval forces in Omani and international waters nearby. Air forces from the two countries will operate throughout in support.








Utilizing Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP), Landing Craft Utility (LCU) and Off-Shore Raiding Crafts (ORCs) from 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines, the Commandos and Coastal Regiment conduct WADER training as part of the amphibious integration package.
The troops were launched from HMS Albion and RFA Lyme Bay, training a joint capability to project a small and specialised force from ship to shore.
“Soldiers from the Omani Coastal Regiment and Royal Marines from 40 Commando conduct joint amphibious training as part of SaifSareea3. Landed by craft from 539 Assault Squadron, the training provided an excellent opportunity for the Omani Coastal Regiment and Marines to bond and get to know each other as well as develop their skills ahead of the SaifSareea tactical exercise.”
