Today (01/07/2021) Her Majesty the Queen made her formal entry into Scotland with the Ceremony of the Keys in the Palace of Holyroodhouse in central Edinburgh, where she is presented the Keys to the City by Frank Ross, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh.
As part of the ceremony she was welcomed by 5th Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Scotland, known as Balaklava Company, the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Pipes & Drums of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. F Company, Scots Guards provided the Palace Guard.
Holyrood Week, is the annual formal residence of the Queen in Edinburgh and a programme of visits takes place across the week while she is based there.
